Carrom on the big screen, with your phone as the striker

Carrom is the board game every Indian home has played. On Our Console the board is on your TV or laptop and each player shoots from their own phone: drag back like a slingshot, aim, and let go.

How to play

  • Slide the striker along your baseline, drag back to aim and set the power, and let go.
  • Every coin you pocket scores: white 20, black 10. Pocket any coin and you shoot again.
  • The red queen is worth 50, but you must cover it by pocketing a white or black coin on the same or the next shot.
  • Pocketing the striker is a foul: your last coin goes back.
  • While someone aims, their opponents call Pot or Miss on their phones for 5 points.

Players and game length

Two, three or four can play. With four, partners sit opposite and play two against two. Alone, you practise against a computer player. A game ends when the board is cleared or after four minutes, and in the last minute every coin scores double.

These are simplified point-carrom rules, so every coin counts for everyone and a beginner can score from the first shot.

Questions

Can I play carrom online alone?
Yes. Playing alone, you practise against a computer player.
Do I need a carrom app?
No. The board opens in the TV or laptop browser and the phones join by scanning a QR code.
How do I aim on the phone?
Your phone shows the board from your side. Drag back anywhere on it: a line shows where the striker will go, and the further you pull, the harder the shot.
