A cricket party game for the whole room
Super Over is a cricket game built for a room full of friends. The ground is in 3D on your TV or laptop. Each player bats one over on their phone, the player before them bowls in secret, and everyone else calls every ball for points.
How to play
- Batting: watch the ball on your phone and tap left, straight or right for the side it comes to, as it reaches the line. Right side and perfect timing is a six.
- Bowling: choose a yorker, bouncer, slower ball or spin for each ball. Changing the pace gets wickets.
- Watching: call each ball before it is bowled (out, dot, one or two, four or six) for a point.
- Your score is your runs plus your right calls. The highest score wins.
Players
One to eight players. An over is six balls, or four when six or more play, and two wickets end it. Alone, you bowl an over to a computer batter and then chase its score.
For a football version of the same idea, try Penalty Shootout: shooters aim and time their kick while the keeper dives in secret.
Questions
- Can I play cricket alone?
- Yes. Alone, you bowl an over to a computer batter and then chase its score.
- Why do I watch my phone and not the TV when batting?
- Your timing is judged on what your phone shows, so a slow network never makes you miss.
