Play Mafia with friends, no moderator needed
The hardest part of Mafia (also called Werewolf) is that one friend has to sit out as the moderator. On Our Console the TV is the narrator: it hands out secret roles to the phones, runs the night, reveals who was taken and counts the votes, so everyone gets to play.
How a game of Mafia Night goes
- Five to eight players. Roles arrive in secret on each phone: Mafia, a Doctor, a Detective and Villagers.
- At night everyone taps a name, so nobody can tell who has a power. The Mafia choose a target, the Doctor protects someone, the Detective checks one player.
- At dawn the TV says who was taken, or that the Doctor saved them.
- The town talks, then votes on the phones with a live tally on the TV. The town wins by voting out every Mafia member.
- Players who are out become ghosts and can still send reactions and answer a ghost poll.
Shorter and simpler: Odd One Out
If your group is new to hidden-role games, start with Odd One Out: everyone sees the same secret word except one player, everyone types a clue, and the room votes for the bluffer. It takes three rounds and needs four players.
